As you drive up to this hotel opened in 1972 it's certainly not evident that the building is that old nor that it's a hotel, its had extensive renovations and looks amazing. The foyer/reception is a just an amazing inviting place with a very chic decor, quite a Hollywood style you can't look past. A welcoming hustle and bustle coming from the restaurant invites you to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. The room is again incredible with style and glam. A very colorful design with modern amenities. Again going with a very Hollywood theme but not tacky or over the top. Fancy an Old Fashioned? There is some wiskey and bitters in the corner complete with glasses and an ice bucket ready to go. Some funny little nick nacks for sale at the mini bar which fits in nicely with the theme of the hotel. Some amazing views also. A solid 5 star for me!
The Good - The food is great. Breakfast buffet is superb. The bar makes a great cocktail (But don't ask for a Bloody Mary!).The Bad - The rooms are small, no safe. They have been nicely modernized but the thin veneer of time is readily apparent under the surface.House keeping was woeful during my stay but I will just put that down to them having a bad day.Would I stay again? - yes but only for an overnight stay. That way I avoid House keeping, the small room doesn't bother me so much and I get to enjoy the best feature of the place - the food!
This place was amazing the drinks and food are so good. The bar stuff are always up for a challenge and will make anything drink. But what made this place was Rosie she went above and beyond anything I thought that would make this place great. She is so helpful and cares about making your visit fun and special. So thank you again Rosie for for being such an amazing person and really making mine and my wife's stay special. Hope to see you and the Qt in canberra again soon.
I recently went to the QT for a professional event however I have also stayed in one of their rooms. It's a wonderfully modern hotel and 4 stars is an understatement especially when you take into account capital bar and grill. Wonderful place.
QT Canberra is my favourite hotel to stay at in Canberra, if not in the whole of Australia! High quality, professional, quirky, artistic and most importantly extremely comfortable. Rooms are perfect in every way. I would take the bed home in an instant as it could be the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Choice of in-room consumables is quirky and fun. Bar and restaurant are incredible, as are the party and function spaces. Would recommend to anyone!
