You definitely need to attend floriade every year if you happen to be in Canberra during Spring. There are so many different workshops, performances and events each year. Flowers bloom without a care of the world and they will absolutely make your day. If you like seeing happy families, lovely couples or just a group of friends having fun, I definitely recommend this place. There are volunteers to point you to the right direction if you ever need help, or just use the map they provide, the map is usually easy to understand. The night events require you to pay for entrance, so buy your tickets online and save them on your phone. The colourful night lights are very pretty too. I recommend going both during the day and at night.
What an awesome experience it was to look at the floral beauty. So much hard work must have gone in to maintain the flowers. Excellent display. Delight for the eyes. Great atmosphere. Perfect for family time. You can find food, beer, some joy rides, music and shop amidst beautiful flowers and their fragrance. Highly recommended.
Beautiful flowers and getting very commercial with shops everywhere. I think the whole experience would be better if the retail area was in one place and leave the garden free from tents full of hawkers. We were there on dogs day out and had a great time. The nuts were good too.
Wonderful collection of best tulips in a single venue which is so amazing. The colours that you can imagine are all there. Great way to spend time with family and friends. Photograph opportunity everywhere since it's so picturesque. Good amenities like washroom and fresh drinking water. good food and fun activities for kids as well. Must visit!
Absolutely awesome!! Canberra is great at big events like this. Great attention has gone to details of colours/patterns and mapping, the parking is well provided for, public transport is readily available and there are plenty of spots for disabled people and a free shuttle bus. We were blessed. Someone in the caravan park told us they just drove up every year and just parked right there and that's exactly what we did and after that we were blessed by this guy who just gave us his ticket which had 3 hours left on it!!Volunteer guides are always ready to help you and show you what you're looking at and direct you where to go.We came late in the season not knowing what to expect but instead of a bunch of dead flowers we got a beautiful colourful garden undiminished in beauty!!The guide we spoke to said that as the early flowers bloom and died new flowers came up to replace them so no matter when you came it is still the same - just beautiful.A ride on the Ferris Wheel is a must so that you can take in the patterns from a high level. Lots of snake oil salespeople out there to make up for their expense..not cheap pricing but there was some great products on show out there!!Lots of food stalls so you and the kids won't starve or die of thirst and there are a couple of fresh water bottle refill stations as well. There are multiple opportunities to keep the kids amused - kids are well catered for.Don't miss it next year!!
